The visually sumptuous barrel room at Markham Vineyards is an acoustically satisfying venue for our final Saturday night concert on August 21, 2010. In addition to wine tasting at intermission, the evening's program includes Gordon Getty's Four Traditional Pieces for string quartet, Martin's Quartet for oboe, violin, cello and piano, Mendelssohn's Andante and Scherzo for string quartet, op.81 and Elgar's Piano Quintet. Music in the Vineyards is a three-week chamber music festival held each August in the Napa Valley. Now in its 16th season, the festival showcases world-class artists-in-residence performing new and classic chamber music repertoire in stunning winery settings. Each concert offers wine tastings at intermission and breathtaking views of the Napa Valley.
